Old Waverly C&G trestle
Title:  Old Waverly C&G trestle
Description:  This is bridge was abandoned by the CAGY in 1984 after being struck by a barge that had broken loose upstream. Appearing to be a daylight shot, this was actually just shy of midnight with a full moon. 30 second exposure. For me the only thing missing were a few rod and reels.

Description:  A switch stands company with the famous C&G/YMV diamond where the Southern crosses the dog. The diamond was pulled up at some point but it still lays next to where it crossed the C&G for many years.

Description:  The 614 was named after the City of Cleveland, Ms and after a regular engineer. The 614 has since been retired, Mr. Chambliss has went to another RR and the C&G pulled its rails up from Cleveland. The 614 came to the C&G in 1981 from the FEC.

Description:  GP7's don't come a dime a dozen anymore and this unit was originally a museum piece that ended up dying on the C&G a month after its hurried arrival then was left to rust and bake behind the roundhouse for almost 15 years until today.

Title:  Pot Of Gold At The End Of The Rainbow
Description:  The Columbus switcher, local and road job all rolled into one have left Columbus Brick for that all important 1 car. It is being rolled along what once was the C&G's mainline. With a bridge abandonment in 1984, this mainline became a shadow of itself overnight. Columbus Brick is the only customer on the line and only 1 of 2 customers C&G serves in its name sake town. With the promise of a new steel mill and a possible auto plant, better days may be yet to come for the C&G.
