Delta Western Facility
Title:  Delta Western Facility
Description:  The Delta Western feed mill is one of the C&G's largest customers and the largest period on the "west end" of the line. They make mainly feed for numerous catfish ponds in the region and the company has been a loyal customer since the mid 1980's. Job 48 eases by the mill on the main but will cut off and do a few8pick ups and set outs. DW owns a former C&G CF7, the 808, which they use for interplant switching and it is still adorned in its full CAGY "John Deer Green" scheme, no yaint outs or mark outs to indicate its new owner.

Description:  The 2880 and 2000 slide between the 8718 and the 601 on their way with the daily train of scrap metal and mty's to feed the voracious appetite for the new Severr Corr steel mill southwest of town. The 2880 is ex NS (original) exxSOU exxxNS. 2000 is exSOU 2785 exNS 2785 exC&G 2785. 8718 is ex IC with more numbers and owners than I can imagine. 601 is all C&G.

Title:  Walking After Midnight
Description:  Just after midnight, the Columbus switcher pauses for a few moments after getting a track warrant from the KCS to head out to the steel mill with 8718 and 1002 having the honors. It was nice to wee 2 units in fairly matching paint banging them around together, doesn't happen often on this line.

So sticking with that practice, I was going to shoot this train but suddenly the sun came out. And so it goes.
