NS 27A swings thru a curve at Oxford , AL with NS 8794 in the lead. These old sparty's are being renumbered and rebuilt a handful at a time. They were NS's first delves into the Dash 9 craze that swept the country but unlike other RR's NS would opt for standard cab equipped units. It was however with the arrival of NS 8889 in January 1996 that from that point onwards they would come equipped with the safety or wide cabs. Recently NS has begun a program to rebuild their first Dash 9's that were standard cabbed with safety cabs.All have since been retired since this image was taken. |
