Unfortunately almost 4 1/2 years after this picture was taken, it and the unit behind it were scrapped in April 2009. Luckily though the scrapper allowed me to get the number boards so I have that if nothing else. |

The front nose of the 701 lies in a pile of scrap years after rolling off the LaGrange floor in 1955. In her 40 some odd years of opperation she served the Southern Railway and the C&G well but in the end fate won out. |
