A very rare chance to get an upclose and personal shot of a GTR engine couldn't be passed up. |

Hi There, Come Here Often? |
Description: |
If its rare to catch a GTR unit setting all by its lonesome, its even more so to catch one "having a meet". Here, Watco's Alabama Southern Reform-Artesia turn starts its struggle uphill past the GTRA 819 after having just come downhill. Luckily for the ABS guys they had a short train. |

The 819 tied down just outwide Weyerhauser's CMF plant. Not often you get a chance to see a GTR unit so up close and personal so I took the chance and got some up close pictures |

819/810 |
Description: |
Since their main customer was bought out by a competitor only to purposely be shut down, the GTRA has fallen on hard times. Prior to that, the GT would come to Columbus daily with sizeable trains and leave with the same. Now, they only come to Columbus every other day with shorter trains and at times, as in the case with this photo, return with nothing. |

GTRA 819 |
Description: |
GTRA 819 heading back with two engines, three loaded tank cars and five spacer cars between each. The GTRA G-1 is on the other end. This is viewed from the new HWY 45 South overpass. If you had tried this on the old one odds are you'd been smeared by the ubiqitous southern log truck. It's possible and safer to do now. |
