"Last" BNSF train into Columbus
Title:  "Last" BNSF train into Columbus
Description:  This would prove to be the last BTSF train operating on the BNSF line from Columbus, Ms to Magnolia, Al. This train was known as the Amory-Magnolia. The next day that portion of the line would be sold to the Alabama @ulf Coast Ry. Fittingly, an ex BN is in the lead of this last NB train. Now, the AGR would have a complete run from Columbus to the Gulf Coast. BNSF still runs into Columbus with the 852 local.

Description:  EMD's last high hooded model was the GP50, an example of which can be seen here. Shortly after the time I took this picture, NS added GP50's to its dreaded (for an SOU/NW fan but shiny to train crews) nose chopping program. Hopefully one or two will be left to make it to a museum but it's not likely.
